Disc Charges
Each disc holds approximately 100 images. No disc charge if you send an existing Master PhotoCD for additional scans.

General Information
All scans are saved to the Master Photo CD Five-Resolution Image Pac Format. This Image-Pac format saves 5 different resolution files of your image ranging from 74K to 18Mb. Included in the price of the PhotoCD is an "index" print which shows all the images on the disc in thumbnail size.

PhotoCDs are usable on PCs, Macs and Unix systems. The Kodak PhotoCD format is supported by most modern software packages. These programs access the PhotoCD files through Open, Import, Insert or Place menu options. For help using PhotoCD scans on your computer, see our Technical Support section below.

Master PhotoCD supports 35mm films only. For other films please refer to our Drum Scanning Services.


Select the application you are using PhotoCD with
Corel Draw | Corel Photo-Paint | Harvard Graphics
Illustrator | PageMaker | Photoshop | PowerPoint | QuarkXpress

Corel Draw
Go to the File Menu and select Import
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_cd directory
Open the Images directory
Select the image that you want, and click Import
In the Image dialog box select the size and colors that you want to use for this image
Click the Enhancement tab for additional color correction options, then click OK

Corel Photo-Paint
Go to the File Menu and select Open
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_cd directory
Open the Images directory
Select the image that you want, and click the Open button
In the Image dialog box select the size and colors that you want to use for this image, then click the OK button

Harvard Graphics
Go to the File Menu and select Import
In the Files of type: Pop-up select Kodak PhotoCD (*.PCD)
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_cd directory
Open the Images directory
Select the image that you want, and click Import
You can resize and rotate the image to fit your layout

Illustrator
Go to the File Menu and select Place...
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_cd directory
Open the Images directory
Select the image that you want, and click Place
From the pop-up select the resolution that you want
You can select the color space and the source of the image, then click OK
Note (Mac): You must have the Kodak Precision API extension installed in your System folder.

PageMaker
Go to the File Menu and select Place...
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_cd directory
Open the Images directory
Select the image that you want, and click OK
PageMaker allows you to adjust many parameters, including the size, rotation and sharpening
Select your options, then click OK button
Note: You must have the Photo CD Import filter installed

Photoshop
Go to the File Menu and select Open
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_cd directory
Open the Images directory
Select the image that you want, and click Open
From the pop-up select the resolution that you want
You can select the color space and the source of the image, then click OK

PowerPoint (Macintosh)
Go to the Insert Menu and select Picture...
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photos folder
Open one of the five resolution folders
Select the image that you want, and click Open
Within PowerPoint you can resize, crop or adjust the images to fit your layout
PowerPoint (Windows)
Go to the Insert Menu and select Picture:From File...
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_cd directory
Open the Images directory
Select the image that you want, and click the Insert button
Within PowerPoint you can resize, crop or adjust the images to fit your layout

QuarkXpress
Go to the File Menu and select Get Picture...
Navigate to the Photo CD
Open the Photo_CD folder
Select the image that you want, and click Open
Note: You must have the PhotoCD XTension installed
